Joker (2019) Gotham City in de jaren 80. Een clown, Arthur Fleck genaamd, voelt zich uitgekotst en verstoten door de maatschappij. Geleidelijk aan wordt hij krankzinnig en ontpopt hij zich van vriendelijke, vrolijke clown tot schurk, beter bekend als ‘de Joker’. Iemand die kickt op haat en het creëren van chaos.

Verhaal. In het Gotham City van 1981 probeert Arthur Fleck, die op straat en in kinderziekenhuizen als clown optreedt, door te breken als stand-upcomedian. Hij woont samen met zijn moeder Penny in een achterstandswijk.

Welke Joker acteur heeft zelfmoord gepleegd?
Heath Ledger overleed op 22 januari 2008 aan een overdosis (voorgeschreven) medicijnen vlak voor de release van de film “The Dark Night”, waarin Legder de rol van The Joker op zich nam. Fans begonnen zich hierna veel vragen te stellen over de mentale toestand van de acteur.

De opnames gingen op 10 september 2018 van start in New York en eindigden op 17 december 2018. Er werd gefilmd in onder meer Newark (New Jersey), Harlem, The Bronx en Brooklyn. De scène waarin het hoofdpersonage op een lange buitentrap danst, werd opgenomen in The Bronx.
Hoe eindigt The Joker?
Joker wil eerst zelfmoord plegen voor de camera, maar ziet ervan af en gebruikt de kogel op zijn voormalige held Murray Franklin. Na het doden van Murray Franklin wacht Joker kalm in de studio tot hij wordt gearresteerd door de politie.
