Als je auto geschikt is om op te laden met een 3-fase laadpaal, dan is het wellicht verstandig om daar ook gebruik van te maken. Hiervoor heb je wel een 3-fase aansluiting nodig in de meterkast. In tegenstelling tot een 1-fase laadpaal, die 230V gebruikt, maakt een 3-fase laadpaal gebruik van krachtstroom (400V).
