Inhoudsopgave
What does CLP stand for?
Classification, Labelling and Packaging (CLP) is a chemical regulation that seeks to protect human health, ecosystems and the environment whilst maintaining worldwide trade. Over the years, the United Nations have developed harmonised criteria for classification and labelling of dangerous/hazardous chemicals.
What is the CLP Regulation?
The CLP Regulation amended the Dangerous Substances Directive (67/548/EEC (DSD)), the Dangerous Preparations Directive (1999/45/EC (DPD)) and Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 (REACH), and since 1 June 2015, is the only legislation in force in the EU for classification and labelling of substances and mixtures.
How well does CLP actually work?
According to the US military and their testing, CLP works well enough to keep their weapons maintained and operating in the field across a number of different conditions. To meet their standards, it can’t dry out or stiffen in the heat, can’t let in much dust or sand, nor can it give in to humidity, high pressure nor saltwater immersion.
What is the difference between “CLP” and “L” cleaning?
Actually, they are trying to do the impossible in terms of gun cleaning (and practical chemistry). In “CLP” formulations, there are chemical components that are engineered to do the “C” part — the gun Cleaning part — while the “L” and “P” parts of the formula are trying to Lubricate and Protect.
